Required Skills: The candidate must have excellent illustration or drawing skills and talents, especially digitally, on screen. Candidates who fit all the requirements perfectly but have little or no experience in drawing digitally, using graphic tablets like Wacom, will still be considered if they feel enough confidence to apply and show scanned images of samples of their work, which was done on paper. The candidate should be imaginative, creative, and able to apply mental images on screen & paper, upon request and within deadlines. Big bonuses include: experience with Adobe Illustrator or Macromedia Freehand or CorelDraw; a business sense; proficient Arabic & English, and possession of a Wacom graphics tablet. Having a solid background about Muslim culture, Gulf countries, Arabic or Islamic calligraphy and architecture is a huge bonus, as we offer our services to many Muslim individuals and Islamic organizations, especially in the Gulf.
Job Description: Visual Communication: meaning, communicating messages and ideas visually, using graphics, colors, and drawings, mostly digitally—on screen—and sometimes on paper. He or she must make sure that the message, idea, and feeling are delivered as required. Coming up with ideas to illustrate or draw is not a requirement and not obligatory, but it is definitely in the job description to take precise instructions, ask the right questions, and look at rough—maybe even childish—drafts, then illustrate or draw the exact idea or image that is required, almost perfectly, and deliver the results as a scalable image file. Coming up with any ideas that get accepted, however, will be a bonus for the candidate for which the company will reward him or her accordingly.
